I am Dr. Itzue W. Caviedes-Solis. I joined in September 2019 the Science Unit as a postdoctoral fellow and a curator of the Natural History Collection, both at Lingnan University with Dr.Jon Fong!
We are working on building the amphibian and reptiles collection for conservation and education. I am also focused on a genetic case-study on the endangered tree frog Liuixalus romeri. I am excited to have the opportunity to learn about HK herpetological diversity!
Moving to Hong Kong from the US has being a smooth transition. I love the warm weather, the culture, and the places. It reminds me a lot to my home, Mexico. Central and Kowloon are the biggest part of the city, big buildings and crowded. That also feels like my home, the mesmerizing and chaotic Mexico city!
